Mystery Shopping as a Job

If you got an email inviting you to be a Mystery Shopper, ignore it.

Here is a printable version of this page.

Mystery shopping is legitimate work. That work is normally done by market research companies. Market research companies usually recruit by word of mouth via existing staff, but sometimes by newspaper advertising.

Very little of the work of a market researcher is mystery shopping. The pay is not much above the minimum rate. You are not going to make much money doing this sort of work.

A quick Internet search produced letters in a Yahoo forum.

Here is an email sent to me. It's signed Carlos Martin. It was sent from an address posing as someone from an American university, and the return address was to an email address in Hungry. Very strange.
